August always brings on the fatigue for me. Recently returned from a big trip? Check. Visited with out-of-town family for weeks on end? Check. Adopted a dog? Sure! Check. Met half a dozen deadlines in just a couple of weeks? Check. In a way, it’s almost as if the annual tidbit of an art world lull is just the right amount of slowness to remind me that I was a little too tired out anyway, and it’s good to take that break.
There’s something really beautiful about having no plan for what comes next, too—at least not yet! Things are brewing, of course, and I’m looking forward to sharing some of the things I’ve been working on in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I’ll keep this brief for now, and I hope you all enjoy a wonderful rest of your week!

Four exhibitions to see in Berlin, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, and New York City
Eleven opportunities for artists with deadlines coming up soon
Featured Artist: Sunil Yadav
Sunil Yadav’s gorgeous mixed-media works on paper evoke collaged architectural renderings, vintage maps, and enigmatic system diagrams that simultaneously hint at abstracted landscapes. Grids, rulers, and geometric forms play with the idea of flatness and volume, inviting views to peer through portals that move beyond the two-dimensional surface of paper.
